Elizabeth Rasmussen graduated from Stanford University in 2012 with a degree in History and a minor in Latin American Studies. During high school Elizabeth discovered her passion for education as a volunteer weekend teacher with Breakthrough Collaborative in her hometown of Houston, Texas and, during a year abroad, as a weekly English teacher at an elementary school in Zaragoza, Spain. While volunteering in a first grade classroom in a Bay Area charter school, Elizabeth continued to develop her love of learning in college and realized that she wanted to be more actively involved in the fight against educational inequality in America. She joined Teach for America in 2012 and is currently in the process of obtaining her Masters of Science in Education from Relay Graduate School of Education. Elizabeth is excited to join PAVE’s team of hardworking and enthusiastic teachers, and she is looking forward to sharing her love of reading and history with her fourth graders.
