PAVE Academy will prepare Kindergarten to 8th grade students to thrive in competitive high schools and four year colleges. PAVE Academy will provide the children of Brooklyn with a rigorous academic program and a school community built on the school’s core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance and Excellent Character (PAVE).

• A strong culture of high expectations and continuous learning leads to school-wide success. Students will thrive in a learning environment where expectations are high, clear and consistent throughout the building.

• PAVE Academy’s educators will be our greatest asset. At PAVE Academy, all school personnel are educators. Any school is only as strong as the educators in the building. PAVE Academy will work relentlessly to attract and retain an outstanding team of educators.

• Small learning groups and an extended school day and year are necessary for significant gains. PAVE Academy students will spend more time in school than students in a traditional public school. This provides us the opportunity to ensure that students master essential content. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of enriching extra-curricular activities.

• Ongoing assessment and swift intervention maximize students’ academic progress. We must know what PAVE Academy students don’t know when they don’t know it. Students will be assessed regularly to inform teachers if the students are mastering key concepts. This way PAVE Academy teachers can support both individual students and groups of students until that they master critical content.
