Mission and ImpactOur Mission: PAVE Academy Charter School prepares Kindergarten to 8th grade students to thrive in competitive high schools and four-year colleges. PAVE provides its students with a rigorous academic program and a community built on the school’s core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance and Excellent Character (PAVE).
Our Core Values
ImpactLocated in Red Hook, an isolated area of Brooklyn where elementary and middle schools have struggled for decades to adequately prepare the neighborhood students to graduate from high school, PAVE was founded on the belief that a strong school can transform a community. PAVE opened in August 2008 with 88 Kindergarten – 1st grade students; now in our 5th year of operation, PAVE serves nearly 300 Kindergarten – 5th grade students and will eventually grow to serve 470 Kindergarten – 8th grade students. PAVE has the ability to have a tremendous impact on the children of Red Hook as we serve an extremely high-needs population: 100 % of our students are minority and nearly 90% qualify for federal free or reduced-price meals.
