Mission and Impact
Our Mission: PAVE Academy Charter School prepares Kindergarten to 8th grade students to thrive in competitive high schools and four-year colleges. PAVE provides its students with a rigorous academic program and a community built on the school’s core values of Perseverance, Achievement, Vibrance and Excellent Character (PAVE).
Our Core Values
PAVE was founded on the belief that a strong school can transform a community. Located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, an isolated neighborhood where elementary and middle schools have historically struggled to prepare children to graduate from high school, PAVE offers a comprehensive, high-quality academic program. PAVE opened in August 2008 with 88 Kindergarten – 1st grade students; now in our 6th year of operation, PAVE serves nearly 370 Kindergarten – 6th grade students and will eventually grow to serve 470 Kindergarten – 8th grade students. PAVE has the ability to have a tremendous impact on the children of Red Hook as we serve an extremely high-needs population: 100 % of our students are minority and nearly 90% qualify for federal free or reduced-price meals.
